When a tank is out gunned it is sometimes relegated to other, less demanding roles. The M5 was converted to Recon and Towing duties. The turret was removed and a mg mount installed.
This model started as the Tamiya M5A1 U.S, Light Tank kit (35097). The Verlinden M5 Recce/Command Interior & Exterior set (1841) were used for the conversion. This set contains a full interior (no engine compartment), a replacement roof for the hull, and a PE fret for the stowage rack and a few other small details.
