About Me

Chuck Bush

My name is Charles Franklin Bush. What am I doing with a web site? My son bought me this domain for Christmas, 2005. I've had websites in the past, on GeoCities and AOL, but this is my first stand alone site. If you know me, and I don't owe you money, you can email me by clicking the E-Mail Me link to the left. What follows is a short autobiography, just because Amber says I should include one here.

I was born in 1946 in Philipsburg, Centre Co., Pennsylvania. I grew up in rural Clearfield Co., in an area called Morgan Run. I went to first grade in a one room school house called Eagle Eye. I had to walk 1 mile each way, and it was up hill both ways. I attended 2nd thru 6th grade in West Decatur (Blue Ball). From grade 7 to grade 9, I attended 6th Street Jr. High in Philipsburg. I went to Philipsburg-Osceola High School, graduating in 1965. Up to this point in my life, and when I return to Pennsylvania to visit, I was Frank Bush; I never used my first name.

After Graduation I enlisted in the United States Air Force. I went to Basic Training at Lackland AFB, Texas in June, 1965, followed by Basic Medical training at Gunter AFB, Alabama. My first Assignment was at Loring AFB, Maine. There I worked at the Base Hospital, on the Medical Surgical Ward, Emergency Room, and Eye Clinic. During my stay at Loring, I met my wife, Nancy, we were married in December 1967. I also joined my first band. I was the Drummer for "The Phantoms" and later "Randy and the Rebels".

In 1969 I was stationed at Anderson AFB, Guam. There I worked in the Emergency Room and the Eye Clinic. During my stay on Guam my son, Chuck, was born in Philipsburg, Pa.

I returned to the world in November of 1970 with an assignment to Grand Forks AFB, ND. My son Aaron was born there in 1971.

At GFAFB I worked in the Emergency Room several times as both Shift Leader and as NCOIC. I was also NCOIC of the Eye Clinic, the Pediatric Clinic, Physical Exams, and the OB Ward. I was also the Hospital Career Advisor. During this stay at Grand Forks, I played in the "Doug Blackman Trio", and two other bands; "The Night Riders" and "Cheyenne".

In 1986 I became an Independant Duty Medical Technician and was NCOIC of the Medical Aid Station at Kwang Ju, Korea.

In 1987 I returned to Grand Forks AFB to work as NCOIC of the Outpatient Clinic until my retirement as a Master Sergeant in 1988.

After "retirement", I went to work at the Larimore Good Samaritan Nursing Home, first as a Nurses Aid, and as a Van Driver. My wife and I now live in Larimore, ND, where I am retired. I spend my time reading, building scale models, and writing the occasional review for the IPMSUSA.org website.
